Follow this care guide to ensure you are rewarded with lasting beauty from your Style My Home pieces.
Linen Upholstery
To maintain your linen upholstery, we recommend applying a fabric protector such as Scotchgard. Regularly vacuum the surface to keep it free of dust. For slipcovers and items with removable covers, professional dry cleaning is advised.
Indoor Furniture
To keep your timber furniture looking its best, we recommend cleaning regularly with a gentle, non-abrasive surface cleaner and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these may damage the finish. Always wipe up spills promptly to protect the wood, and consider using coasters or placemats to prevent marks from heat, water, or scratches.
Our dining tables are sealed with a very resilient nitro-lacquer seal which is the perfect defence against staining.
Leather
To keep your leather furniture looking its best, dust or vacuum it regularly with a soft brush attachment and wipe gently with a clean, damp cloth.
Apply a quality leather conditioner every 6–12 months to maintain suppleness and prevent drying or cracking, and avoid using household cleaners, solvents, or abrasive products that may damage the finish.
Spills should be blotted immediately with a dry cloth, and for stubborn stains, we recommend seeking professional cleaning advice.
Outdoor Furniture
Our outdoor furniture is designed to withstand UV exposure, extreme heat, oxidation, and high moisture, as well as mould and mildew. Resistant to moisture, salt, and chlorinated water, it’s an ideal choice for outdoor and beachside living.
Our outdoor furniture requires minimal maintenance. Simply clean with mild soapy water and if needed, give it a gentle brush-down.
Polypropylene Rugs
To care for polypropylene, clean with mild soapy water and a soft cloth, then air dry. Vacuum rugs regularly and blot spills immediately with a dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasives, or high-pressure washing. Although resistant to mould and mildew, ensure proper ventilation and thorough drying after cleaning or water exposure.
Wool Rugs
Vacuum regularly with suction only to prevent matting. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth – do not rub. For deeper cleaning, use a wool-safe detergent or professional service. Rotate occasionally and keep out of direct sunlight to minimise fading and wear.
Jute Rugs
Vacuum regularly to remove dirt and prevent buildup. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth – avoid water, as jute is highly absorbent and may stain or weaken. Rotate occasionally to ensure even wear and keep out of direct sunlight to minimise fading. Professional cleaning is recommended for deep cleaning.
